You Know the Christmas Season Has Started When Colby and Henry Are Back in Town!

Colby, 2023.

Photo and story by Jeff French Segall

Colby Grant and his associate Henry Woodard have been coming down to the Upper West Side and setting up shop at St. Martin’s Tower, at the corner of West 90th Street and Columbus Avenue, from their home in rural Vermont for six years. Colby says he feels like he’s become part of the community. Along with Christmas trees, Colby and Henry sell maple syrup sourced straight from their maple tree farms. While purchasing trees for Christmas, their customers often buy a pint or quart of their syrup as well.

Colby Grant and Henry Woodard, 2022.

At any time, during rain, snow, sun or gloom of night, Colby and Henry will do their best to make your Christmas come out right.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate. Thanks, Jeff, for touting our friends from up north! Woops! Did I say touting? I meant reporting on, of course.
