A man was shot early Thursday morning on the Upper West Side, a police spokesperson confirmed.
A 38-year-old man was shot in the leg about 3:15 a.m. at Central Park West and West 91st Street, police said. He was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in stable condition, police added.
A person of interest has been taken into custody, NYPD said.
There was not more available information as of Thursday morning about what led up to the shooting or if the two people knew each other.

We heard three to five gunshots at 3:11am. Police also closed the street. Sounded more severe than a gunshot to the leg.
My wife and I, who live at the. Eldorado at the corner of 91st Street and CPW, were awakened by gunshots and called 911 at 3:11 am. .Approximately 5 shots were fired in rapid succession and we heard nothing further from the street.
We heard multiple gunshots at around 3am. The doorman said that the police told him that the man was walking his dog and three men ambushed him near the Citibike rack at 91st and CPW. They shot him six times and wounded but did not kill him. Police arrived in ~2 min and apprehended two of the men, and the third was identified on security footage and by a fingerprint.
At 3:30AM there was major police activity at 93rd and Amsterdam. They stopped a car with a male and female in it and arrested the male.
