SUBMERGE Marine Science Festival invites scientists of all ages and experience levels to Hudson River Park’s Pier 84. At this two-day festival, Hudson River Park’s River Project and dozens of partner organizations offer hands-on opportunities to discover our local waterways. Combining laughter and learning, SUBMERGE brings marine science to life with interactive tours, wildlife meet-and-greets, science showcases and so much more!
Hudson River Park’s River Project is committed to advancing public awareness and understanding of our connected waterways. The SUBMERGE festival—offering two days of learning and excitement in the Park—aims to inspire and make marine science accessible and engaging for everyone.
On Friday, teachers can book a field trip to attend the festival; field trips are free to book, with priority access given to Title I schools.
And then there’s fun for all ages during the free public festival on Saturday, September 30. Join us to celebrate NYC’s local waterways at SUBMERGE during this extraordinary showcase of river wildlife and hands-on science activities! Be sure to stop by Science Stations throughout the event, where partner groups from all over NYC will be sharing dynamic demonstrations and activities connected to our local waterways. We have over 30 groups joining us throughout the two-day festival, including some crowd favorites like the New York Aquarium, Billion Oyster Project and many more.
And be sure to check out Hudson River Park’s Critter Corner where you can meet real residents of Hudson River Park’s Estuarine Sanctuary, including oyster toadfish, crabs and our many, many marine friends!
If you have any questions, please contact our River Project team at education@hrpt.ny.gov.
Our 25th Anniversary event season is presented by Hudson River Park Friends, the Park’s designated fundraising partner. HRPK Friends is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the completion, care and enhancement of the Park.
Hudson River Park is not part of NYC Parks, and we rely on private funds for our free programs, maintenance and operations. That means your donations are essential to ensuring our event season remains free for the public. Show your support today.
