Denton Taylor took these photographs of the second annual Japan Day parade, celebrating Japanese culture, art, and tradition, as it made its way down Central Park West on Saturday afternoon.

It was an awesome day for The Japan Day Parade. They turn out was spectacular and wonderful people. The costumes were incredibly beautiful in color. The turnout was very well attended. Much better this year than last year, but the last year event had much of the leftovers of the pandemic.
Definitely a family treat for all…
This was a thrill — but packed! Next year they should run the street fair/concession part from 72nd Street all the way down to Amsterdam.
This kind of stuff is great for the neighborhood!
This is only the second year for this classic event. Now they got a sense of what the turnout would be. I’m sure parade organizers will make provisions and adjustments for the following years to come.
