Bring Joy to an Older Neighbor Through DOROT’s 9/11 Day of Service Package Delivery

DOROT’s 9/11 Day of Service Package Delivery brings hundreds of older adults and volunteers together to share warmth and companionship.

This September, volunteer to deliver a package of treats and share a friendly phone call or visit with an older adult in the community.

Join volunteers from across the country in commemorating 9/11 through communal service. By giving a little of your time, you can make a big impact!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Register online HERE
  2. Pick up a package of treats (locations below)
  3. Deliver the package to an older adult
  4. Connect with the older adult for a friendly phone call or visit

Dates:

Sunday, September 11 and Monday, September 12

Package Pick-Up Locations:

West Side: Sunday, September 11 & Monday, September 12

Between Park and Lexington Avenues

Please Note: Pre-registration and valid photo ID is required to participate. All volunteers must wear masks for the duration of the program.

I love this idea. I am alone, isolated, forgotten in North Carolina. I reached out to DOROT when going through a really painful time solo.
Yes. DOROT was willing!
I’d love to bring this wonderful NY-idea to more states…especially the poorest, as NC.
Across the USA there is too much isolation & elder abuse .
Very very serious discrimination & neglect. Deadly.
DOROT gives everyone meaningful LIFE & LOVE &
COMMUNITY again!
