Police have connected an earlier sexual assault to the man who allegedly sexually assaulted two young women on Saturday morning, July 16, the first near Central Park West and West 82nd Street.
Following that assault, which occurred around 4 AM, the man headed downtown by electric bicycle on Central Park West, police said. At 5 AM, a second woman was sexually assaulted around Avenue A and East 4th Street, following the same pattern.
On Tuesday, police stated that “Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, a third incident has been added to this pattern.” It occurred on May 15, 2022, at 4:30 AM on the Manhattan Bridge walkway. A 26-year old woman reported that she was riding her bike when “an unknown male on a bicycle approached her…and forcibly grabbed [her] hair from behind. The individual displayed a knife and pulled the victim to the ground. He displayed his genitals before forcing her to perform a criminal sex act. The individual fled the location, Manhattan bound on his bicycle.”
A police sketch of the individual being sought is attached.
