At 5:04 PM on Friday, 5/27, the National Weather Service issued the following warning:
What: Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Where: NYC
When: Until 5:45 PM on 5/27
Hazards: 60mph winds and penny-sized hail expected. Strong winds can cause flying debris, turn unsecured objects into projectiles, and cause power outages.
Preparedness Actions: Exercise caution when walking, biking, or driving.
Before an outage
– Charge cell phones
– Gather supplies
– Turn refrigerators/freezers to a colder setting
During an Outage
-Stay clear of downed power lines
-Turn off all appliances
-Keep refrigerator/freezer doors closed to prevent food spoilage
-Do not use generators indoors
-If you have a disability/access needs, or use life sustaining equipment (LSE) and need immediate assistance, dial 911.

If we get a notice at 5:04 that lasts until 5:45 how are we supposed to have enough time to charge all our stuff in case of outages.
