There was a fire early Wednesday morning at 80 Amsterdam Avenue (63rd-64th), a 13-story residential building that is part of the Amsterdam Houses, a NYCHA housing development.
According to the FDNY, two people were injured and taken to Mount Sinai West hospital, their identities and conditions unknown.
At 1:30 a.m., 20 units, carrying 78 firefighters were dispatched to the address, the FDNY said. They determined that the fire was on the 13th story of the building and placed it under control by 2:19 a.m.
“It is not the first time this year that the FDNY was called to 80 Amsterdam Avenue,” according to Patch. “On Feb. 15, a man died after flames ignited on the fifth floor of the…building.”
