Symphony Space Launches New Weekly Performance Series ‘Revelry’

The Avalon Jazz Band.

Greetings from the corner of 95th and Broadway. Perhaps you’ve come to visit before, looked us up online, or maybe we’ve never been formally introduced? We’re thrilled to be just up the street, and to be your friendly neighborhood performing arts center. We’ve loved being in the neighborhood for the past 40 years.

But in that classic New York City way, it’s possible that despite being neighbors for as long as we have (and fetching our newspaper at the same time each morning) we have yet to actually meet, say hello, and get to know each other beyond a friendly caffeine-deprived elevator nod.

Well, here’s to hoping that all ends today. We’re proud to introduce a brand new music series that we’ve created just for you: Revelry at Symphony Space. A place to join together with the rest of your NYC neighbors for performances by your soon-to-be favorite musical artists, in a fun and joyous evening of musical discovery. And enjoy great food and drink specials on top of that at our Bar Thalia.

Just like that favorite local restaurant of yours, or that beautiful spot in central park you frequently haunt, we’re excited to become your go-to place for a local night on the town. Grab a drink, leave the world behind, and discover great music featuring bluegrass to Balkan brass, Western swing to West African folk, and just about everything in between.

So, here’s to a beautiful and enduring friendship (without having to buy cookies from our children or attend an awkward barbeque in Riverside Park where we expect you to bring a fruit platter). Join us for Revelry — every Thursday night, and only at Symphony Space. Learn more here.

Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
