Teens Assaulted 14-Year-Old Boy on the Great Lawn: Police

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in locating two teenagers that police say assaulted a 14-year-old on the Great Lawn in Central Park last month. Police posted the photos above and the video below.

It has been reported to police that on Friday, April 4, 2018 at approximately 1725 hours individuals approached the 14 year-old male on the Great Lawn in Central Park (vicinity of 85 Street and West Drive) and engaged him in conversation. The individuals then proceeded to assault the victim by punching and kicking him. They were last seen walking westbound on West 81 Street. EMS responded and transported him to an area hospital for a fractured orbital floor and a laceration to his face. The Persons of Interest are described as follows:

1: Male, black, 17 to 19 years-old wearing a white t-shirt, red shorts, sneakers with red laces, and a blue Superdry backpack.

2: Male, black, 16 to 18 years-old, approximately 6’0″, wearing a white t-shirt, sweatpants with a light stripe, and a blue Nike backpack.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
