Meetings This Week Address DACA and Federal Funding Cuts to Health Care

Two meetings this week will take a look at changing federal policies under the Trump administration.

Even with the potential failure of the GOP’s latest Obamacare repeal bill, federal funds for Medicaid are likely to fall and Community Board 7 is holding a panel discussion on what that will mean for local seniors and people with disabilities and low incomes. The meeting is on Tuesday, September 26 starting at 7 p.m. at 250 West 87th Street. The panel includes assembly member Richard Gottfried, the chair of the state’s Health Committee, as well as heads of social service agencies and the parent of a child with disabilities. And on Thursday, there will be a free legal clinic to help people reapply for DACA, the program that allows people who came to the U.S. when they were children to stay in the country. More info below:
