Police are looking for a man who punched and kicked another man while they were on the 1 train at 86th Street in December. The alleged assailant is depicted in the surveillance photo above and a description is below.

It was reported to police that on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, a 37-year-old male victim was on board the southbound #1 train at West 86th Street and Broadway when an unidentified individual approached him and a verbal dispute ensued. The individual punched the male in the face several times and kicked him in the leg. The individual fled to parts unknown and the male victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The individual is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 25-years-old, 5’11”, 180lbs, last seen wearing gray baseball, gray jacket, light blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

Good thing they are getting around to looking for him now…on Feb. 28th…when the incident happened 2 1/2 months ago.

Not sure why they wouldn’t put the picture out sooner but I’m sure they have their reasons.

I can’t help but wonder what the ‘verbal dispute’ was about. Sounds like someone looked at someone the wrong way. A serious offence in the NYC transit system.

Or maybe the victim was wearing a Red Sox hat or a Patriots jersey?? I mean, I would have hit him myself if I would’ve seen that.:)
