When cultures cross, taste buds win. The latest proof is at Amster Thai, the new spot at 969 Amsterdam Avenue between 101st and 102nd Street.
The chef, Naomi tells us, is married to a Scotsman.
“I talked to the waiter first, and when the chef came out, I talked to her. From what I could understand, there is curry and coconut milk involved, as well as sausage meat (she said her husband is from Edinburgh, but I didn’t meet him). My late husband used to make Scotch eggs, so I’m very tuned in to them.”
Where else can you travel to two continents for less than 5 bucks?
Not here. The scotch eggs are $17 according to your photo.
I think that’s the menu number: S-17.
Definitely the menu item (S17).
I stand corrected. Thank you.
I always appreciate and share Naomi’s reviews! Louise
