A store known for its Halloween costumes closed just after Halloween, and a new cafe is open on 72nd Street.
Ricky’s, the costume and makeup shop on 83rd and Columbus closed on Nov. 2. The store is directing customers to its other locations on 72nd Street near Columbus and 87th and Broadway. Thanks to Carol, Peter and John for the tips.
Cafe Bee opened a couple of weeks ago at 239 West 72nd between Broadway and West End Avenue. It’s “busy as a… well, you know,” Keith quipped. Thanks also to Gretchen.
Park Pleasant Deli is set to open on 100th Street and Central Park West, the former home of a laundromat called CPW Cleaners. Thanks to Tsadik for the photo.
Bistro Citron, the restaurant at 473 Columbus Avenue (83rd Street), is listed as being up for sale. And a corporation called “ACS Colombus LLC” is attempting to get a liquor license for the space.
Hudson Market, a high-end specialty grocery store, is set to open at 57th Street and 11th Avenue at the bottom of the Helena 57 West. Thanks to Gabbi for the tip.
Goddard Riverside Green Keepers, which “provides paid on-the-job training in horticulture, street sanitation and pest control services while providing beautification services to local associations, developers and private individuals” is moving from 577 Columbus Avenue to 61 West 87th Street. I ate at Cafe Bee a couple of times. The food is EXCELLENT. The service is great and they are very accommodating.. I highly recommend this new addition to the Upper West side.

Park Pleasant Deli looks very uninspiring . The signage makes me thing it will be another corner sandwich , bodega spot. Fake bunting is never a good sign of things to come.
I have tried their Vegan Lentil soup and Chorizo n Egg Sandwich and Smoked Turkey Sandwich. They all taste GREAT!!!! PERFECT. I LOVE THEM. I saw someone ordered Avocado toast with fried egg on it. It looks so delicious.I’m gonna try that next time!!

Cafe Bee on 72nd, this place is just the right time for the neighborhood. Their soft scrambled egg and oriental salad with grill chicken are extremely delicious, and serve ALL DAY. They also have a promotion for grand opening is buy any salad or sandwich and get soup for FREE. The staffs are very friendly and great service as well. I will definitely come back to try some other food
