GET ON THE WAITLIST FOR A CHEAP MITCHELL-LAMA STUDIO AT TRINITY HOUSE

An apartment in a Mitchell-Lama development is a rare commodity — few new apartments come on the market and tend to get snapped up very quickly.  But Trinity House, a building at 100 West 92nd Street owned by the Trinity School, is opening up the waitlist for studios in the building.

As 6sqft reports, “a 750-name waitlist has just opened for studio apartments that range from $432 to $503 a month for one- and two-person households earning between $17,263 and $90,625 a year.”

Download the application info here.

Mitchell Lama buildings tend to be privately owned but state regulations keep rents low. There has been controversy surrounding this building, as Trinity won approval to hike rents by as much as 13% a few years ago over loud objections from residents. But rents remain well below any market-rate apartments.

Another benefit: Tenants will be very close to the new Trader Joe’s.

Don’t they already have an extended waiting list. Why do they need 750 names? I guess they need the application fee.

Anyone know what happening at 301 W 96th St New York, NY 10025? There’s a curtain over the building.
