MOMS PROTEST GUN VIOLENCE OUTSIDE THE TONY AWARDS

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense protested in front of the Tony Awards at the Beacon Theater on Broadway and 74th street Sunday night, using the high-profile venue to help shine light on the need for gun control in the wake of the mass shooting Sunday in Orlando.

The Orlando gunman Omar Mateen had twice been probed by the FBI for possible terrorist ties, but was still able to buy guns legally, including an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. He reportedly wasn’t on a terrorist watch list at the time of the shooting, but under current law he would have been able to buy guns even if he had been on the list.

I think we should ban airplanes because they were used on 9/11.

Try thinking before you post. Consider if what you are saying really contributes to the conversation and the greater good.

If guns had the same amount of regulation as airplanes those moms would not be out there protesting.

But not untrue.

Blame the lack of a proper background check. Blame the PC rules the FBI has had to follow for the last five years that allowed this monster to do what he did. But to blame the gun itself is stupid. Radical Islam will kill more and more Americans until something is done to address this problem seriously. Trump 2016.

Trump Supporters of the UWS Unite!

(I would have much preferred Patrick J. Buchanan but at this point, Trump’s our only–and perhaps last– hope.)

Re: “Trump’s our only–and perhaps last– hope”

REALLY?!?!

You ARE aware that Mr. Trump’s bombastic threat to ‘bar people (i.e. Muslims) from terrorist-inclined countries’ would NOT have prevented the Orlando horror BECAUSE THE GUNMAN WAS A U.S. CITIZEN and had lived here his entire life !

But it IS typical of Mr. Trump’s know-nothing bombast, meant to appeal to his band of ill-informed supporters seeking easy answers to complex issues.

Oh, and as for your “Trump Supporters of the UWS Unite!”…isn’t it sort of difficult for 5 or fewer to “unite”?

Stan,

Had Trump’s immigration policy been in place, Omar Mateen would most likely not have been born here, as his father would most likely not have been permitted to immigrate here from Afghanistan.

See also this piece by Steve Sailer, in which he analyzes the speech Trump made in the wake of the Orlando massacre and argues that the severe restrictions that were placed on immigration in the 1920’s were successful in stemming the tide of the anarchist terrorism that had been plaguing us at the time.

Additionally, ending the interventionism in our foreign policy would also go a long way toward making us safer.

So, yes, REALLY.

You have linked to every racist and Jew-bashing commentator. Enough.

He was interviewed by the FBI multiple times. The FBI has a “hands-off” approach when it comes to Muslims, this directive was handed down five years ago by the White House to the FBI. UNDER A TRUMP ADMINISTRATION, a psychotic like this would not be “cleared” by the FBI. Yes, Clinton will win New York, but there are other states besides NY and CA. Trump. Will. Win.

I am NOT a fan of Mr. Trump.

However, Omar was raised by a father who came to this country as an immigrant, and bears some responsibility for what he taught to son and how the son turned out.
