MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY ANNOUNCES MANHATTANHENGE DATES

Hear ye, hear ye. The celestial event known as Manhattanhenge arriveth later this month, so get yer camera-phones ready and bow before the celestial orb! Or take a selfie.

The Museum of Natural History announced the following dates and times for Manhattanhenge.

SUNDAY, MAY 29, AT 8:12 PM EDT (HALF SUN)
MONDAY, MAY 30, AT 8:12 PM EDT (FULL SUN)

MONDAY, JULY 11, AT 8:20 PM EDT (FULL SUN)
TUESDAY, JULY 12, AT 8:20 PM EDT (HALF SUN)

“On July 12, the American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium will also be hosting a public program highlighting the history and astronomy of this spectacle. Starting at 7 pm, Jackie Faherty, a research associate in the Museum’s Department of Astrophysics, will give a special presentation followed by a viewing of the event at 79th Street.”

Look not ye directly into the sun!
