Police are looking for two men who they say pulled a gun on a man inside his building’s vestibule on West 81st street on Sunday morning. The men are depicted in the surveillance video below.
It has been reported to police that on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at approximately 0645 hours the male individuals followed the 53 year-old male victim into the vestibule of his apartment building on West 81 Street and produced a firearm. The individuals demanded the victim’s property, which consisted of two bags containing $3400 in cash, a cellphone, and two (2) iPads. The individuals removed the victim’s property and fled in a mid-size black SUV.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
That’s a lot of cash to carry in 2 bag, and 2 IPads and a cell phone to boot.
Sure sounds like the robbers knew exactly what to look for.
