West Side Rag readers have a chance to check out a free advanced screening of a new movie called Risen starring Joseph Fiennes. Check out the details below and click on the link at the end to secure passes. Seating will be first-come first-served and they do tend to overbook the event, so be sure to show up early. They allotted 100 “admit 2” passes, in case anyone wants to bring a friend or family member.

    Wednesday, January 27

    AMC Loews Lincoln Square

    1998 Broadway @ 68th St.

    7:00 p.m.

RISEN is the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer.  Clavius (Joseph Fiennes), a powerful Roman military tribune, and his aide, Lucius (Tom Felton), are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus (referred to by the Hebrew name Yeshua in the film) in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.

RISEN stars Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love), Tom Felton (Harry Potter), Peter Firth (The Hunt for Red October; “MI-5”), and Cliff Curtis (“Fear the Walking Dead”).

This sounds horrible. Poor Joseph Fiennes can’t get arrested lately. And the topic sounds like a made for TV Easter movie. No thanks.

It’s a free event in the neighborhood. The WSR is an excellent source to find out about free events in the neighborhood.

Just found this on facebook. It’s about a part allegedly played by Joseph Fiennes which will air in the future.
