A new Bloomingdale’s outlet is set to open soon in the former home of Urban Outfitters on the corner of 72nd street and Broadway. The company noted in a release that it now expects to open in November.
And Bloomingdale’s is looking to hire people, including someone with the cool-sounding job of “loss prevention detective” — essentially catching shoplifters. Here’s the job description: “As a Bloomingdale’s Loss Prevention Officer/Store Detective you are responsible for protecting the assets and people of your location.”
We wrote more about the outlet here.
That’s funny. Urban Outfitters was basically another version of the Diggers Free Store out of San Fransisco the way people payed for things there. Best of luck to Bloomies.
This is much better suited to the neighborhood. More importantly, does anyone know of an opening date/location for Kossar’s Bialys?
As long as they don’t have the same mentality as Barneys
There goes the neighborhood!
This should be a Bagel Nosh.
Please boycott Bloomingdale and Macy’s and all others who advertise in the Israel bashing NYSlimes.
NARO….WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? DO YOU KNOW?

Right…because shoplifting is running rampant on the UWS.
And anyway…when you catch a shoplifter…you should offer them a job. Show them another way to elevate their outlook and self esteem.
Upworthy!
