As our kids grow into teenagers and become increasingly independent, we need to figure out how to achieve the magic act of holding on and letting go at the same time. Seems impossible, right? Spence-Chapin’s Modern Family Center is sharing their clinical expertise and shedding light on how to strengthen your relationship and improve communication with your teen. Research shows that teens are less likely to take risks if they have good relationships with their parents.

“Parenting teens requires enormous confidence on the parents’ part. It’s a balancing act of learning how to be engaged and involved in your child’s life, while investing in yourself with this newfound space,” says Beth Friedberg, Associate Director of the Modern Family Center. “There can be a lot of joy in parenting teens.”

Are you having a hard time connecting with your tween or teen? In their 3-part workshop series you’ll learn how to tell the difference between typical moodiness and problematic behaviors and leave with tools to help your teen become independent, while still providing parental support and nurturing your relationship.
