RITA’S TO CELEBRATE FIRST DAY OF SPRING WITH FREE ICES (IN A SNOWSTORM)

Rita’s Italian Ices is giving away free ices on Friday to celebrate the first day of spring.

“Simply stop in our store located on 92nd & Broadway to get a free regular Italian Ice of any available flavor in our limited edition cup. No purchase necessary to receive your free ice.

Come and enjoy your first taste of spring on us. We encourage all of our guests to post photos with their Italian Ice using the hashtag #NYRITAS2015 for a chance to win a $50 Rita’s Gift Card.”

Sadly, the first day of spring may not feel so springy. Current forecasts call for 4 to 6 inches of snow!

(Nonetheless, free ices are awesome. Thanks Rita’s.)

free ices are awesome.

Awesome?

If getting frozen colored water and sugar is “awesome” then what is, for example, Mt. Everest? Or an exquisite work of literature or music? The Taj Mahal? Riverside Park?

Well, at least you didn’t say “totally awesome”.
