One of the most unique events on the Upper West Side will take place on Sunday at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

The church will hold a special service to  bless animals big and small on Sunday from 11 to 1. Tickets for the service are sold out, but people who arrive early can still get same-day ticket — the Cathedral recommends getting there before 8:30 a.m.

After the service, the church holds a fair on its grounds from 1 to 4, with performances, more animal blessings, and vegetarian food trucks.

Learn more here and watch the video below. You can find more weekend events on our calendar.

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
