OUR PICNIC IS POSTPONED ON ACCOUNT OF RAIN…BUT WE’VE STILL GOT A PLAN TO CELEBRATE ON SATURDAY

I laugh at your plans, mortals!

We were sooooo ready to have The Greatest Picnic Ever in Central Park on Saturday to celebrate the West Side Rag’s three-year anniversary. But the sky isn’t cooperating — the weatherman says there’s a 60% chance of rain all afternoon. As much as I love standing in an empty field during a thunderstorm and eating a soggy sandwich, we’re going to have to postpone.

Sigh.

Nonetheless, we’re still in a celebratory mood, so we’re going to celebrate dammit. Anyone who’d like to raise a glass to the West Side Rag (a glass of orange juice is fine too) should stop by The Emerald Inn at 250 West 72nd street on Saturday between 12 p.m. and 2. It’s on the South side of 72nd street just East of West End Avenue.  We’ll provide finger foods and perhaps some beverages, and sit around in the restaurant portion in the back and talk. Bring a friend, a story, whatever you want.

The Greatest Picnic Ever will still go on, but a later date — perhaps in a couple of weeks. More on that soon.
