The fancy-pants food reviewers at Michelin spent some time slumming it this year, and found three local “value” restaurants that they think are worth checking out. They call these restaurants “Bib Gourmand.”
“Defined as ‘Inspectors’ Favorites for Good Value,’ Bib Gourmand restaurants offer two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less (tax and gratuity not included), and are often of most value to a city’s residents, who regularly dine in neighborhood restaurants.”
Drumroll please…The three winning restaurants are:
Gennaro Italian Restaurant, the classic Italian Mediterranean spot at 665 Amsterdam Avenue (between 92nd and 93rd street)
Miss Mamie’s Spoonbread Too, the Southern food favorite at 366 West 110th street (between Columbus and Manhattan Avenue).
Sura, the Thai restaurant at 2656 Broadway (between 101st and 102nd).
I do frequent 2 of the 3, so Michelin must be right.
