An abandoned car burst into flames on 78th street near Columbus Avenue at about 2 a.m. this morning. No one was reported injured in the fire, and firefighters had closed the scene by shortly after 3 a.m., FDNY tells us. The fire was in front of the Evelyn at 380 Columbus Avenue.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause.
The owner, no doubt, had abandoned the car in favor of a bicycle now that the Columbus Avenue bike lane has been extended.
Your last graf is disgusting. “Click here to look at more tragedies!”
Sincerely,
Your neighbor who lost someone in a vehicle that “burst into flames.”
Wow, your reporting really is terrible.
Sorry about your loss and our insensitive reporting (no one was reported hurt in those other incidents we linked to, but that doesn’t excuse writing something insensitive.) We pulled the paragraph. Avi
No need to apologize. Some people just want to be touchy about everything. This is a community blog, not News 4 NY.
Hey, what’s wrong with News4NY, anyway?
Some of us *like* News4NY, you know.
