ACTRESS FIGHTS OFF ATTEMPTED RAPIST IN CENTRAL PARK NEAR 64TH: POLICE

A 30-year-old woman fought off a man who she said attempted to rape her in Central Park around 64th street early on Tuesday morning. Police released minimal official details about the crime. The Daily News and DNAinfo say the woman, an actress, met the man after drinking at a bar. He attacked her inside the park near West Drive around 2:30 a.m., police said. She fought him off, but he made off with her pocketbook, the Daily News reported.

Police released the photo above of the suspect taken by a surveillance camera. DNAinfo says he is 5 foot 8 inches tall with black hair and black eyes.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
