The Chatsworth on Riverside Drive near 72nd Street just sold to Ziel Feldman for $150 million. Feldman is known for his condo projects, and he also worked on the renovation of the Belnord on 86th. How long before this one, which is half-filled with rent-stabilized tenants, goes condo? “Mr. Feldman hopes to perform a similarly ambitious renovation on the 139-unit Chatsworth, and to raise rents significantly as units turn over. Rents in the building average $35 a square foot.” (Wall Street Journal)
Bill Telepan’s favorite spots to eat on the Upper West Side. Telepan is one of the neighborhood’s best chefs, and is involved in making public school food healthier. Among his favorites: Island Burger and La Traviata for pizza. (Serious Eats)
