A dolphin was spotted on Monday in the Hudson River, making its way from Harlem down to Chelsea. It passed through the Upper West Side sometime between 2 and 4:30 p.m. If you see it, call 631-369-9829 — wildlife experts are trying to determine if it needs help. (DNAinfo)
The city is planning to lease 90,000 parking meters to a private operator, a plan that raises lots of money in the short-term but could be a “catastrophe” in the longer term, says Matt Taibbi. In Chicago, the city has lost out on a recurring revenue stream, and residents have seen their rates jacked up at the whim of a private operator. NYC says it won’t repeat Chicago’s mistakes. Good afternoon,
I spoted a dolphin yesterday June 24, 2012 a few minutes after 3pm from the Metro North Railway, Leaving Croton-Harmon Station before aproaching the very next station Osoning. It was by itself, on a very secluded area away from all the boats visible, but not close to the railway. It was so surpising to see one, that immediately researched dolphins in the Hudson, only to learn the latest developments. I usually go kayaking but that was quite a distance from the area we cover, when on the boat. I wonder if it was with the one found a few days back. This one is a survivor. Hopefully this will help keep track of it should anyone else report seeing it.
Have a good one,
Z
