To submit images for publication in the West Side Rag, please follow these guidelines:
- Whenever possible, try to submit horizontal or square (vs vertical) images, these work best in our layout!
- Make sure to submit captions and photo credits for each image.
- For horizontal images, the minimum width should be 1500px*
- For vertical images, the minimum width should be 1000px*
- Each article has a featured image that appears on the main page. You can supply the featured image, or we can create one for you. Featured images need to be 1500px wide* x 750px* high.
- You can share images via Google drive or email them directly to carol@westsiderag.com.
- Do not embed images in articles or documents. You must send them separately.
- When emailing images from your phone or computer, make sure that you are sending the “actual size” image so we can crop if needed, see examples below.
- If possible, give the image a descriptive name such as “elephant_on_sidewalk_uws.jpg”.

*px is “pixels” and is the size + resolution that web images are measured using. Here’s more info: https://www.photoshopessentials.com/essentials/image-resolution/ but basically just send a full-size image!
