Are you finding yourself with a little extra time on your hands? Here’s a suggestion. We have within the neighborhood the leading natural history museum and educational institution in the world. Maybe you never found the time to go to the American Museum of Natural History, or maybe, like my brother, you went every Sunday and miss it like crazy. Either or neither way, you can access some wonderful material for the whole family to enjoy and learn from now, courtesy of Scott Rohan, manager of public relations for the museum. He sent WSR a list of resources, including games and activities, learning opportunities for all ages, and opportunities to visit virtually through the Museum’s YouTube channel. Here are the links:

The Museum’s Seminars on Science program offers online professional development programs for educators, the cost of which can include graduate credit.
Opportunities to visit virtually through the Museum’s YouTube channel, which features videos that take audiences into the institution’s world-class collections and into the field with researchers.
Over the next two weeks, the Museum’s Facebook page will also host previously recorded tours of the Museum’s halls and collections as Facebook Lives at 2 p.m. ET.

Thank you for all of the links and info. There was a time when I went to the AMNH every Saturday for nearly 20 years. Still haven’t made it back to see the ‘new’ planetarium. The photo is amazing!
