13 ARRESTED IN COLUMBUS CIRCLE PROTEST

arrests protest

Thirteen women were arrested in a protest at Columbus Circle Wednesday afternoon as part of “A Day Without Women”. The women who were arrested, including the four organizers of the protest, were reportedly sitting in the street in front of Trump International Hotel.

The rally had started earlier at 59th and 5th.

At least a thousand women gathered at Fifth Avenue and 59th Street earlier on Wednesday to protest what they consider the unfair treatment of women. Outside of rallies, those participating in “Day Without a Woman” were asked to stay home from work, wear red, and avoid spending money.

They were all released Wednesday evening.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
