A hawk snatched Eddie the cat off of his owner’s fifth-floor terrace, and started to fly off to devour the animal. But the cat was just too damn fat — about 15 pounds of white furball — and the hawk only made it about 50 feet before dropping the massive feline. A garden umbrella broke Eddie’s fall and he survived with some bumps and bruises. (NY Daily News)
A fire broke out at 26 West 85th Street off of Central Park West late Saturday night, tearing through a five-story brownstone. no one was reported injured, and the cause was unclear. (DNAinfo)
The people making the film “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” with Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock have been threatening to tow cars that are parked near the set within hours after the crew puts up signs, even though they don’t have the authority from the city to do so. In the end, they don’t tow the cars. (DNAinfo)
