News:
Two brothers are battling over an Upper West Side brownstone that one says has now fallen into disrepair. “Andrew Lindsay Cohen alleged in a suit filed Thursday in Manhattan Supreme Court that his brother, James, was wrongly claiming majority ownership of the brownstone at 35 W. 83rd St. that they both inherited. James has lived there since 2011 and not paid rent or the mortgage on the home only a half-block from Central Park, Andrew says. Even worse, James is a hoarder, his brother says.”
A family living in the Amsterdam Houses says they were hurt after NYCHA failed to fix their stove. “Diana Baez, her 9-year-old son and her 4-year-old daughter are plaintiffs in a planned suit against the Housing Authority and the city — accusing agency workers of ignoring complaints about the stove in their Amsterdam Houses apartment on the Upper West Side. In fact, as recently as a month before the fire on March 16, 2017, the mom complained to NYCHA that the stove turned on by itself, according to their lawyer Eric Schwarz.”
Lincoln Center’s new president Debora Spar was hired to help the institution move on from its prior president’s departure, but lasted just one year. “Brought in from outside the arts, Ms. Spar is leaving after a rocky year. Lincoln Center dramatically scaled back plans to rebuild David Geffen Hall; ended one of its summer mainstays, the Lincoln Center Festival; endured tensions between longtime senior staff and members of Ms. Spar’s new team; and grappled with financial challenges, projecting a deficit this year.”
The ABC campus on West 66th Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West is in contract to be sold to Silverstein Properties for over $1 billion, the Observer reported. “The transaction will include the 22-story, 420,000-square-foot 77 West 66th Street, and will likely also encompass the adjacent three-building, 316,000-square-foot property at 47 West 66th Street, as well as other buildings in Disney’s more than 1-million-square-foot Upper West Side office portfolio.” What happens to the campus next is anybody’s guess.
Diane Keaton is selling the San Remo apartment she bought after she was in Annie Hall. “”There was a window on every side. Everything was wide open. That was the beginning of my true interest in architecture.”

Mickey gets booted?
“In fact, as recently as a month before the fire on March 16, 2017, the mom complained to NYCHA that the stove turned on by itself”
More tragedy, but hey, Silverstein and Diane Keaton are thriving. So there’s that.
Great photo!
Nothing new there at Lincoln Center.
What about the ABC studios at 66 street and Westend Avenue? With all the new construction along Westend and the Hudson River – it is prime real estate.
With regard to the brownstone story, it sounds like a remake of the Collier Brothers.
A great number of apartments on the UWS look like this inside.
Cain and Abel
Diane Keaton’s interior design seems to lack something in that apartment.
Everyone who is mad about the monster building planned for the South side of 66th between CPW and Columbus should.start fighting the monstrosity they’ll want to build int he North side.
Is there a WALL (of buildings) coming?
Does Lincoln Square want UWSers out?
It would be great if WSR imposed a maximum monthly posting quota per person.
To Mark:
Post of the year!!! 😀
You trying to establish quotas?

I think he means “Quality control”.
Yeah, you’d be limited.
