L’Occitane just opened a new store on 76th and Broadway. To celebrate this weekend they reminisced about the olden days — no, not the Upper West Side’s gritty days in the 80’s, but the olden days of Renaissance times: someone was playing a harp and the store was giving away champagne, Jen Maguire Coughlin said. As we wrote a few months ago, the store replaced The Body Shop, which had been on that corner for decades. L’Occitane is having a 15% off sale through Tuesday.
Fox’s designer off-price store opened over the weekend at 80th Street and Broadway in the old spot of Filene’s Basement/Syms. On November 23, Fox’s stores plan to hold holiday parties, although they don’t explain what that means.
Thanks to Jen and Angie for the tips and photos.
I rather go back to the grittier times
Love it…..good luck to L’Occitane.
Bill, there is still plenty of “grit” on the UWS.
Nothing wrong with investment in our community, which equals jobs and taxes……
