Notices:
We have a new list of events up for this week, with some free swing lessons, appearances by New York Times columnist Gail Collins and Jarhead author Anthony Swofford, and a midnight showing of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, along with lots more offerings. Check ’em out!
Commenters on my Sunday story about PS 87’s PTA rightly set me straight on some of the issues facing local schools, including lower per-pupil funding that makes it necessary to raise money elsewhere. Note to self: don’t write pieces reacting to articles where you haven’t seen the underlying data. With that in mind, are there any parents out there who would like to pen an occasional column about the politics surrounding local public schools for the Rag? Also, to learn more about what’s up with local schools, check our calendar for a meeting on challenges facing District 3 on Thursday night at 5:30.
News:

Some residents were concerned that the Atria didn’t post signs about his disappearance. (DNAinfo)
