A wall of sticky notes popped up in the Union Square subway station after the election, with messages from people who were upset or excited about the election (hey, it’s New York so they were mostly upset). The idea was sparked by artist Matthew Levee Chavez, who brought the first pens and notes to the subway and encouraged people to vent. Those messages are now being saved and transported to the New-York Historical Society on 77th Street and Central Park West.
And the society will let people write their own notes on the glass wall at its entrance. “Beginning Tuesday through Inauguration Day on January 20, 2017, members of the public can continue to participate in the project by placing sticky notes on the glass wall inside New-York Historical’s front entrance on Central Park West at 77th Street.”
