Carmen sent the photo above of a friendly hawk who just stopped by her apartment at 505 West End Avenue at 84th street to say hi to her parakeet, who was sitting on the windowsill. “Come out little parakeet, I just want to say hi!”
The parakeet “was promptly removed from the windowsill,” Carmen tells us.
Update: The hawk appears to have visited Barbara Migdal on 85th and West End too:
