Guy Mascioli captured an image of the Super Blood Moon, a rare astronomical phenomenon, on Sunday night/early Monday morning from 79th street and Broadway. He also shot the lunar eclipse on Sunday.

Thanks for posting — these are much better than my photos!
Stunning pics. Thanks for posting.
A bunch of people were waiting on W72 Street last night between Broadway and West End. Saw the eclipse but the clouds blocked the view of the blood moon.
It started out quite a disappointing night with clouds (nearly) spoiling the rare phenom. I went out in the mid-90s around 9:50 and enjoyed people-watching as much as the moon, which at that point was mostly eclipsed. The clouds started to really pour in around 10:11, the precise moment the moon was turn red, and (from our vantage) was all but obscured for an hour or so. In desperation, I got on my bike and rode to see if I could escape the giant cloud, and wound up at the Reservoir — mainly because it was wide open views and filled with onlookers. Finally, at around 11 or after, the clouds separated for a few minutes and we were treated to a fairly clear view, well worth the wait. But I sorely wished for a cloudless, pristine view — and better yet, one unfiltered by “light pollution” from the city (meaning, I’ll have to be someone else). Maybe next time, in 2033…
Oy — that’s *somewhere” — not “someone” else…
Outstanding shots of Lunar Moon & Eclipse – Thank you ~ Guy for capturing those moments
