fyi, NYC is on track to have its lowest crime year in history:

I’m sure the victim of this crime will be glad to hear those statistics, Bruce. You truly are a tool!
Any idea where on W 103rd St? That is where I live and this is pretty terrifying.
Don’t have the exact address. Sorry. WSR
these WSR items often turn into harangues from some people about alleged rising crime, and i thought readers might be interested in the article that just came out. but of course i didn’t mean to hurt the victim in any way.
Bruce, stop predicting, i.e., goading. Nobody has yet generalized, except for you, anticipating that someone will likely generalize about rising crime. We’re talking about a crime, not crime in general. This happened, not generally, but specifically to one woman. Please stop trotting out your shtick. You’re like a fomenting wet blanket.
with all due respect, i will continue to “trot out my shtick”, which is that all the yelling and screaming about rising crime is nothing more than a myth. NYC is experiencing it’s lowest crime year in history. you can call me all the names you want, but i will continue to make that point.
And yes, it doesn’t make any single crime any less to the victim.
I love that you trust the info NYPD compiles and publishes. It’s delicious irony.
thanks for the comment.
Yes, anon, without giving away what i do, i have significant experience with government statistics, including published NYC statistics in many fields, and they are highly reliable. I’ve examined the allegations against the NYPD crime numbers. the massive fraud required to “fake” them is not credible. and there are many checks and balances built into NYC govt numbers.
Which is not to say that there is not minor fraud here and there. But in general we can trust these numbers, which have now been accumulating for 20 or more years, and are publicly available.
