Lasker Rink in Central Park reopened on Thursday after city engineers patched the concrete under the ice.
The Trump organization, which runs the rink, had announced a couple of weeks ago that the rink would close for the entire season because of refrigeration problems, and all the classes and ice hockey leagues were cancelled.
Even with the repair, the rink is expected to need much bigger repairs, Bloomberg News reported.
Responding to a leak under the cement, engineers found the entire system needed to be replaced, Preston said. Instead of the overhaul, engineers cut out a portion of the cement and repaired the specific leak.
“It’s a Band-Aid,” she said. “The guess is it will need more major repairs.”
Here’s the schedule for the next few days:
November 28th and 29th
10:00 am to 11:00 pm
November 30th
10:00 am to 6:00 pm

This was the way to do it all along. Fix the critical stuff now to get kids back on the ice and then do the major repairs in the spring. Glad it is back up and running.
Has anyone noticed the name Trump in the story? I rest my case.
Re: “… AFTER PLUGGING LEAK”
Probably more easily done than plugging Snowden’s leaks!

What concrete? It’s built over a swimming pool…
