This handsome fellow above was found on 88th street between West End Avenue and Riverside Drive today, and was taken in by two neighbors. He doesn’t have very long legs, so he couldn’t have run far.
Update: he’s been reunited with his owner.
The cat below was found at 9:30 pm on Riverside Drive and 89th on Wednesday August 13. She’s a female tabby wearing a collar and a bell. For information call 212-316-1023 or 212-866-3195.
Take him to a vet and have them check if he has a chip!
Hi, Anna,
My neighbor took the cat to the vet. No chip, unfortunately.
UPDATE: Thanks to the work of several intrepid Upper West Siders playing Briscoe & Curtis and Cagney & Lacey, we were able to track down the owner (national rabies registry), verify his ID, and reunite the pooch with his owner.
THANK YOU, AVI, FOR POSTING THIS! AND THANK YOU, FELLOW UWSers, FOR HELPING THIS DOG FIND HIS HOME!
There is a cat that looks just like this one that is often hanging around the sidewalk at the Essentials on 80th or 81st. I saw it sitting on the street corner one afternoon and, as it had a collar, tried to see if I could help it home.
The kitty led me to a small print shop a few doors down from Essentials. There the man said that, although this was not his cat, he fed and cared for it. I believe the actual owners are the managers at Essentials.
Not sure if this is the same cat, but defintely looks the same.
Is there any update on the cat?
