Alexander Imich reigned as the world’s oldest man for about a month and a half before dying on Sunday at his home on West 74th street. He was 111.
He donated his body to Mount Sinai Medical Center, according to the Times. Imich experienced some of the greatest horrors of the 20th century — he fled the Holocaust but family members were killed. And he spent time in a Soviet labor camp. But he also experienced great joys, and was a well-known researcher of the paranormal.
We first wrote about him last month.
So he got a few extra years of life. So what. He is dead and gone like all before him. Life is a gift from father chance. Enjoy it or get out. nobody owes you this life. you are here by chance and you will die when chance and genes dictate.
Are you this fun at dinner parties?
The truth is not fun. Religious fantasies and human exceptionalism are silly and absurd. The truth is that we are born by chance and die by chance just like every other living creature.
Wow. What a lame comment by naro.
And btw it’s not just chance. Your lifestyle does have an impact of the quality and span of hour life. So not all chance.
Rest In Peace
