A long-running battle between owners of the Wine & Roses bar on Columbus Avenue between 73rd and 74th appears to be over — and Jennifer Klein, the owner of the Dakota Bar, has come out on top.
The Wine & Roses saga is a long and bitter one. The bar opened to fanfare in 2006 and attracted celebrities. But a feud among the owners led to Klein– one of the owners — being ousted. And a series of legal fights erupted, including an eviction proceeding we wrote about a couple of years ago. A tipster tells us the locks were changed on Monday and then the poster above showed up.
From everything we’ve seen, Dakota Bar has become quite the hotspot since it opened on 72nd and Columbus last year. We’re excited to see what Klein has in store for Wine & Roses.
Thanks to several tipsters.
These places have mediocre service and medicore wines. Wines always start at $14 like that is some sort of norm when if you left these 14 blocks, you’d get excellence and world class wine. Try them out and if you are not on a J date – you’ll notice the huge lack in service. That also goes for Cesca.
Complaining about Jews on the UWS? You should probably find a new place to live or go out because you will continue to be disappointed.
Noo! I am glad Whatsupdoc helped explain. I typed eharmony date but thought JDate was cooler. What I should have said is “first date” – where generally you are trying to impress and not concerned about the bill. Anyway, I have since found out Beacon Bar has half priced wine at Happy Hour. Have a great night Upper West Side neighbors.
That’s not what he was saying. He was implying that while out on a (successful) JDate, it’s easy to lose track of time while schmoozing with one’s beshert.
A WELL-DESERVED VICTORY WHICH PROVES THAT IN THE RIVALRY OF GOODNESS VS EVIL, GOODNESS WINS!!!!!!!!
SO PROUD OF JENNIFER AND TODD!!!! NOW ONWARD!!!!
