Nicholas McGegan Conducts Juilliard415 | Dresden and Berlin: A Celebration of Two Courts
Monday, November 4 at 8 PM at Alice Tully Hall (1941 Broadway)
Known for his enthusiasm and buoyant conducting style, British early music specialist Nicholas McGegan goes Bohemian, leading Juilliard415 in 18th-century music from the two courts of Dresden and Berlin. Juilliard violinist Edson Scheid performs Pisendel’s D-Major Concerto, framed by works from Zelenka, Benda, and C.P.E. Bach. This program of rarely-performed Bohemian works is Juilliard’s 12th annual tribute concert in honor of the late philanthropist Jerome L. Greene.

Jason Moran and Juilliard Jazz Ensembles
Tuesday, November 5 at 8 PM at Juilliard’s Paul Hall (155 W 65th Street)
Critically-acclaimed jazz pianist and Juilliard Jazz’s 2013-2014 artist-in-residence Jason Moran joins the Juilliard Jazz Ensembles in a program of original compositions and jazz standards. A Blue Note Records recording artist, Mr. Moran’s improvisations have been praised by the Village Voice as “dynamic, eruptive, and keyed to the compositions at hand.”
