Table of Silence Project This free public tribute to 9/11 and ritual movement for peace was conceived by choreographer Jacqulyn Buglisi and Italian artist Rosella Vasta. Performance will take place Tuesday September 11, beginning at 8:15 AM and concluding symbolically at 8:46 AM. At Lincoln Center’s Josie Riobertson Plaza. FREE.
5:30 p.m.
Peace of Heart Choir On the 11th anniversary of 9/11, the Peace of Heart Choir invites you to join them for a special sing-along concert. The list of songs will likely include Od Yavo; Let There Be Peace; Peace, Saalam, Shalom; and a few of the easy sing-alongs like Down By the Riverside. At Merchant’s Gate of Central Park (59th Street at east side of Columbus Circle). FREE.

The Heart of Jazz More than 30 of NYC’s top jazz artists will gather on 9/11 to mark the anniversary of New York’s most tragic day with The Heart of Jazz. As much spiritual event as concert, since 2005 The Heart of Jazz has offered NYC’s jazz community a locale to gather, to mourn and look forward in peace — a place to explore the impact of the WTC attacks on themselves, their musical family and their fellow NYers — through the healing qualities of the music. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close Screening A nine-year-old amateur inventor, jewelry designer, astrophysicist, tambourine-playing pacifist searches New York for the lock that matches a mysterious key left by his father, who was killed in the September 11 attacks. At the JCC. $11.
