Wouldn’t today be a great day to sit outside with a view of the Hudson and have a burger, some fries and a couple (okay, a few) drinks?
Well, one of the neighborhood’s top spots for just that kind of activity is out of commission, courtesy of the NYC health department. On Friday, the department shut down PD O’Hurley’s Hudson Beach Cafe in Riverside Park at 105th Street, after the restaurant racked up 112 violation points.

Outrageous! It deserves to be shut down, although it is a shame. It’s so nice to have an outdoor park restaurant. I remember when that location opened years ago and it served breakfast- coffee and bagels. For all of us dog-owners it was a great way to hang out.
Coffee and bagel and muffin thing was a bust, economically, unfortunately. I asked
When they stopped the great music, I stopped going as often. The food was always bad. The view was always good.
Now this. What a shame!!!
Despite multiple violations, have NEVER gotten sick there, whether from shrimp, caesar salad, fries, turkey burger, beef burger, or children’s menu hot dogs, chicken fingers, etc. IOW, never.
